2024 Annual Motiv8 Golf Tournament at Hoakalei CC
2024 MOTIV8 FOUNDATION GOLF TOURNAMENT AT HOAKALEI COUNTRY CLUB
After 7 fun years at Oahu country club, Motiv8 hosted our 8th annual golf tournament at Hoakalei country club. This is one of Marcus’s favorite courses on Oahu so he was excited to share this with our guests. We want to give a special thank you to the club for their hospitality and general manger, Ken Terao, for hosting our tournament.
The day started with players arriving to check-in and collecting their “swag bag” Yeti coolers filled with Blue Tees golf gps+ speakers, custom towels from Slowtide, Resid3ncy HNL hats and Taylormade Motiv8 shaka golf balls. They then chose sizes for their Manuheali’i golf polos and Scott “8” slippers. This year’s theme was in tribute to the tenth anniversary of Marcus’s Heisman year at the University of Oregon. Green and yellow filled the clubhouse.
The course included several local food stations for players to graze during play. Thank you to Fatto a Mano pizza, Sage Creamery, and returning stations Roy’s and DK Kodama for the ono grindz at this year’s tournament.
Our cocktail hour included a silent auction with items like Heisman memorabilia, NFL game tickets, Napa wine tours, cigar and whisky pairings, and more. During cocktail hour we honor the Ardel Deppe community award winners. This award pays tribute to Marcus’s late grandfather who taught him and Matt many life lessons and was their biggest fan. It is given to members in the community who exemplify Papa’s kindness, humility, generosity, and hardworking spirit. Thank you to Riddell for sponsoring the gift of $5,000 to winners. Our recipients this year were the Lahaina Chiefs pop warner football team and Lahainaluna High and Intermediate football programs. The devastation that struck Lahaina last year has impacted many but with continuance of Aloha and Kokua this community stays strong as it rebuilds.
